The Church supports new protests announced by Chilean students

The president of the Episcopal Conference, Ricardo Ezzati, today expressed support for the Church to Chilean student protests, which have announced three new demonstrations for the next four weeks in order to influence the debate on the 2013 budget.

In an interview published today by the newspaper El Mercurio, the archbishop of Santiago also believes that "when students rebel against the profit they are right," referring to the benefits accruing to private institutions.
